Project Target Group

The target group is mainly focused on the 20 Trici drivers, who are currently on their own and completely dependent on their daily income (there is no social safety net). Their mileage depends on their physical condition and in case of illness they do not earn any income. They are exposed to the extreme conditions of Ecuadorian weather and have to compete with the more powerful motorized tricis.

Prerequisite for acceptance of Trici drivers: Interest & understanding of the vehicle (active involvement in conversions to ensure that the driver is familiar with the technical equipment).

Further profiteers:

• Technician/ local mechanic: Creating a future perspective for young person. Currently there are hardly any possibilities of further education for young people without financial means in Pedro Carbo, especially in the technical field → Promotion & further education of young technicians in e-mobility, an innovative, sustainable industry that creates sustainable jobs.

• Long-term beneficiaries are the inhabitants of Pedro Carbo through the increase in quality of life through less noise and exhaust emissions

Motivation of the target group:

• Drivers: Increased efficiency (more income per day), less dependence on physical performance, possible creation of a social network within a cooperative, independence from fossil fuels & prevailing price instability

• Technician: Acquisition of necessary know-how in new future-oriented industry and any further development in solar energy sector.

Ensuring participation:

• Participation of the Trici drivers in development steps (feedback in test phase, tracking)

• Purchase price reduction for personal contribution

• Foundation of a cooperative association and through membership fees running costs, repairs, new purchases of workshops are financed.
